Chef – Cold Line
About the Role
As we prepare to open the doors to our newest tashas café in Fourways, we are looking for a talented and passionate Chef – Cold Line to join our opening culinary team.
At tashas, beautiful food is at the heart of everything we do. We believe in fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation and consistent execution, delivered with care and attention to detail. As the Chef – Cold Line, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting cold dishes, salads, starters and garnishes to the highest standard.
Working closely with the wider kitchen team, you will help ensure every plate reflects the freshness, quality and elegance that define the tashas experience.
Your Mission
You will take ownership of the cold line and ensure every dish leaving your section is fresh, beautifully presented and consistent with tashas standards.
Through precision, organisation and creativity, you will help deliver exceptional food and contribute to a smooth, efficient and inspiring kitchen environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Food Preparation & Production
Prepare and manage the cold line station for daily service.
Produce salads, starters, cold dishes, dressings, sauces and garnishes according to recipes and brand standards.
Ensure all items are fresh, accurately portioned and beautifully presented.
Support mise en place and preparation of ingredients required for service.
Maintain consistency in flavour, texture, plating and presentation.
Monitor ticket times and ensure dishes are delivered promptly and accurately.
Assist with quality checks to ensure every dish meets tashas standards.
Kitchen Operations
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient cold station throughout service.
Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored and rotated according to stock control procedures.
Assist with opening and closing procedures in line with operational standards.
Monitor equipment performance and report any issues promptly.
Support stock management and communicate shortages or concerns to senior chefs.
Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Quality & Brand Standards
Uphold the highest standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.
Take pride in preparing dishes that reflect the values and standards of the tashas brand.

Handle food products and cleaning materials safely and responsibly.
Ensure food is stored, prepared and handled in accordance with food safety requirements.
Report maintenance issues, equipment concerns or safety risks promptly.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a cold kitchen or similar culinary environment is preferred.
A genuine passion for food, cooking and hospitality.
Strong knowledge of fresh preparation, plating and presentation.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
A positive attitude and willingness to support the team.
Strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to excellence.
A collaborative mindset and eagerness to grow.
