About the Role

We are looking for energetic, reliable and service-oriented Runners to join our teams at tashas Melrose.
As a Runner, you are an essential link between our kitchen and our guests. Your role is to ensure every dish and beverage is delivered quickly, accurately and beautifully presented, while supporting the front-of-house team to create a seamless dining experience.

Your Mission
You will help create memorable guest experiences by ensuring food and beverages are delivered efficiently, accurately and with care.
Through teamwork, attention to detail and a positive attitude, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the café and uphold the exceptional hospitality standards that define the tashas experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Food & Beverage Service
Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests promptly and accurately.
Ensure every dish is presented beautifully and served to the correct guest.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
Assist waiters during busy service periods to maintain efficient table service.
Monitor tables and support the team by clearing finished plates and resetting tables promptly.
Help maintain the flow of service throughout every shift.
Guest Experience
Welcome guests warmly whenever interacting with them.
Assist with guest requests professionally and promptly, referring more detailed enquiries to the appropriate team member when needed.
Ensure guests feel looked after through attentive, efficient and friendly service.
Support the team in creating a welcoming and relaxed dining atmosphere.
Help maintain the high service standards that guests expect from tashas.
Operations & Organisation
Prepare and maintain clean, organised service stations throughout the day.
Ensure tables, chairs and condiment stations are clean, stocked and presentation-ready.
Support opening, closing and daily operational duties.
Maintain clean and organised dining and service areas.
Assist with general front-of-house duties as required to support the wider team.
Teamwork & Culture
Work closely with waiters, bartenders, baristas, chefs and managers to deliver seamless service.
Support new team members and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Foster a culture of teamwork, respect and professionalism.
Embody the values and hospitality philosophy of tashas in every interaction.
Participate actively in team briefings and daily communication.
Quality & Brand Standards
Ensure every plate and beverage is delivered with care, accuracy and attention to detail.

Maintain exceptional grooming, presentation and professionalism at all times.
Take pride in contributing to a consistently high-quality guest experience.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all health, safety and food handling regulations.
Follow HACCP procedures and company standards at all times.
Handle food, beverages and cleaning materials safely and responsibly.
Maintain clean, organised and hygienic work areas.
Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
A genuine passion for hospitality and working with people.
A positive attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Reliability, professionalism and a strong work ethic.
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varied shifts.
