About the Role
As we prepare to open the doors to our very first tashas café in Greece, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our opening culinary leadership team.

As Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team, maintaining exceptional standards and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the back of house.

Your Mission
You will support the Head Chef in creating a high-performing kitchen culture built on quality, consistency and teamwork.
Through strong leadership, operational excellence and a commitment to developing others, you will help ensure every dish reflects the standards, care and hospitality that define the tashas experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Kitchen Leadership & Operations
Support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operation of the kitchen.
Lead service periods with confidence, ensuring smooth execution and exceptional food quality.
Support opening and closing procedures, stock control, equipment maintenance and operational readiness.
Ensure recipes, preparation methods and presentation standards are consistently followed.
Prepare and oversee production schedules and prep plans to ensure readiness for service.
Taste and quality-check food throughout the day to maintain consistency and excellence.
Allocate responsibilities across the kitchen team and ensure cooking techniques, timings and procedures are followed.
Conduct daily team briefings and support the organisation of kitchen operations.
Assist with crisis management procedures and operational problem-solving when required.
People & Team Development
Support, coach and develop kitchen team members across all levels.
Assist with scheduling to ensure efficient staffing during service periods.
Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
Foster a positive, respectful and collaborative kitchen culture.
Lead by example through professionalism, accountability and teamwork.
Champion the values and culture that define tashas.
Support performance management initiatives and encourage continuous development.
Food Quality & Brand Standards
Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation standards.
Ensure every dish leaving the kitchen reflects the care and quality expected of the tashas brand.
Uphold standard portion sizes, cooking methods and operational procedures.
Champion our three pillars: beautiful food, stunning environments and engaging service.
Drive a culture of pride, attention to detail and continuous improvement.
Systems & Administration
Support the effective use of kitchen systems, operational processes and reporting requirements.
Assist with inventory management, stock rotation and cost control initiatives.
Monitor ingredient quality, storage practices and kitchen organisation.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and sanitation.
Ensure compliance with all local health and safety regulations.
Complete and monitor HACCP procedures, checklists and corrective actions.
Ensure food is stored, handled and prepared safely at all times.
Maintain clean, organised and well-presented workstations, equipment and storage areas.
Proactively identify and report maintenance issues, equipment concerns or safety risks.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie within a quality hospitality environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop others.
Excellent understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation and quality control.
Knowledge of stock management, food safety and HACCP procedures.
A calm, organised and solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for food, hospitality and people development.
